Symphony Of Raags

The National Centre for Performing Arts will open its doors to three performances as part of the 19th season of the Symphony Orchestra of India. The headline act, titled Peshkar, will be performed by tabla maestro Ustad Zakir Hussain. The event also marks a return to India for renowned conductor Charles Dutoit. Dutoit was the chief conductor at the Philadelphia Orchestra and has had long-standing associations with various orchestras around the world. The event is also expected to feature a panel discussion on the challenges of creating an orchestral piece while staying true to Indian classical music, as well as a crash course of western classical music.
