Enter Sarah Palin. The 44-year-old governor of the 'out there' state of Alaska and a one-time beauty pageant contestant, she's caused many heads to turn in her lifetime. But the vice-presidential candidate of Sen John McCain is now turning heads for all the wrong reasons.
The first reaction was: "Sarah, who?" But before that question could be answered, out tumbled an army of skeletons from Palin's closet, leaving little chance of the national Republican convention on now ending on a high. An unwed, pregnant teenage daughter, a husband convicted of drunken driving (albeit two decades ago) and an ethics investigation for dismissing Alaska's public safety commissioner who refused to sack a state trooper under pressure from Palin. The trooper in question: Mike Wooten, her former brother-in-law, who dared fight a messy divorce and child custody battle against the governor's sister.
