Dilip Kumar Inaugurates Priya Dutt's Election Office
Her brother Sanjay Dutt may not be there by her side after joining the Samajwadi Party, but Bollywood thespian Dilip Kumar today inaugurated the central election office of Congress MP Priya Dutt at Kalina in suburban Mumbai here.

Priya, who is seeking re-election from the Mumbai North central Parliamentary constituency, said Dilip Kumar was a father figure to her and he has never let her feel the absence of her father Late Sunil Dutt.

"Both Dilip uncle and Saira aunty, by their presence here, have given me strength. I feel encouraged," she said at the public meeting.

Priya said "the hand" (Congress symbol) had the power to crush fundamentalism of all types and focus on development and progress.

She said she wished to carry forward her father 's legacy and sought support of her constituents.

Dilip Kumar said that Late Sunil Dutt was his younger brother and friend. "I wish Priya all success and may the Lord bestow her all success and respect," he said.

"I feel happy and overwhelmed by coming here to bless you," the legendary actor told an emotional Priya.

"Even when I was coming here,I was remembering Sunil in the car," he said nostalgically. 

Minister of state for Home, Naseem Khan who represents the Kurla assembly segment, now re-christened as Chandivali, promised to give 40,000 lead to Priya while Mumbai Congress chief Kripashankar Singh who represents the Santacruz assembly segment which is now called Kalina, said he would ensure Priya got a 50,000 lead from Kalina.

Priya thanked them for their support. Local unit leaders of RPI, NCP and the Congress were present on the occasion.
