Pakistan High Commissioner Shahid Malik today met Home Secretary Gopal K Pillai and discussed with him the issue of security during Commonwealth Games, where athletes from the neighbouring country will also participate.

"I discussed about security during Commonwealth Games," Malik told reporters when asked about the 30-minute meeting.

Malik, who visited the Commonwealth Games Village yesterday, had expressed satisfaction over the facilities and said that the Pakistan athletes would be staying there.

Malik, during his meet with Pillai, also raised the issue of city-specific visa restrictions faced by Pakistani athletes and officials because of which the sportspersons from the neighbouring country will not be able to undertake a proposed trip to Agra or even to the full-bore firing range located at Kadarpur in Gurgaon.

The Home Secretary, according to sources, assured Malik that the Commonwealth Games accreditation cards, issued to the contingent, would be considered as visas and hence the athletes and officials would not face any problems to travel either to the CRPF firing range in Gurgaon or to embark on a sightseeing trip of the Taj Mahal in Agra.
