At his residence, personal belongings were presented to Modi by Sheila Ghatate of Delhi-based Manjiri Trust, a PMO statement said.

These items had been willed to Ghatate by Bipin Dahyabhai Patel, grandson of Sardar Patel, and his wife Lui, it said.

"Received some personal belongings of Sardar Patel. The items, include plates, cups and saucers etc used by Sardar Patel himself. These items are a unique part of India's heritage," Modi wrote on his Facebook account.
