Railway Board To Probe All Aspects Of Bikaner-Guwahati Express Accident, Chairman Informs

The Bikaner-Guwahati Express train had derailed in West Bengal's Jalpaiguri district, leaving 36 injured and 9 killed. Railway Board Chairman VK Tripathi inspected the site and informed that all the aspects of the train accident will be investigated by the board.

Vaishnaw said that the actual reason behind the accident could be ascertained only after dismantling the engine's equipment. He also met injured passengers at the hospital.

He conducted an inspection of the tracks and the locomotive involved in the accident, a Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) spokesperson said here. The cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained and a committee has been formed to investigate it, she said.
