Imran citied his 'busy political life' as a reason for their split though the grapevine suggested that Hugh Grant was the third party responsible. The announcement came soon after the death of Sita White and after reports that Imran and Jemima had agreed to adopt her child, allegedly fathered by Imran.

Jemima Khan, former wife of jailed Pakistani politician Imran Khan, and their son, join a group of protesters outside the Pakistan High Commission in London, calling for an end to the state of emergency and the release of all political prisoners in Pakistan. Imran Khan surfaced at a student demonstration against emergency rule on Wednesday and was promptly detained by hard-line students and handed over to police in Lahore. Since then, Imran has declared that he would be taking no food or water for an indefinite period, pending the restoration of the constitution. According to his family, Imran Khan is being kept in solitary confinement after being charged under anti-terrorism legislation.
