A total of 17 people were trapped in the mine, the Chongqing municipal government said on its social media account. One person was taken to a hospital, and the others showed no signs of life, the post said.
The Army has also joined the rescue operations along with the Navy, the NDRF and other agencies.
On Friday, the body of a coal miner retrieved from the flooded coal mine on Thursday was identified as Amir Hussain of western Assam's Chirang district.
The highly decomposed body was pulled to the water surface by an underwater remotely operated vehicle (UROV) and then taken out.
The Naval divers suspended their operation to retrieve the body of an unidentified miner as the body is disintegrating with every pull by the ROV.
The divers have managed to bring the body to the mouth of the mine and it will now be retrieved in the presence of doctors, said Indian Navy.
The body was recovered from the 'rat-hole' mine and was handed over to doctors for further supervision.
The green tribunal had imposed a blanket ban on coal mining and transportation in Meghalaya in 2014, citing unscientific methods and absence of safety measures.
