AIMPLB (All India Muslim Personal Law Board) has urged Centre to refrain from ‘useless and harmful laws’, after the Cabinet had last week approved a proposal to raise the minimum legal age of marriage for girls from 18 to 21 years.
Maulana Madani also said that hatred cannot be countered with hatred, only ignorant people can try to extinguish the fire with fire.
AIMPLB's working general secretary Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rehmani demanded a judicial inquiry into the case by a sitting High Court judge.
According to Dr Abdul A Hai, one of the directors of the hospital where Wali Rahmani was admitted, he breathed his last in the morning.
Zafaryab Jilani also said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi leading religious proceedings in his official capacity at Ayodhya was against the spirit of the Constitution.
The board alleged that prospective Muslim parties, who can file the review petition, are being harassed by the Ayodhya police.
The Sunni Waqf Board said they have accepted the Supreme Court's decision on Ayodhya title suit.
It is unfortunate that triple Talaq Bill law did not pass with a unanimous vote in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
“The motive is political and there is no doubt about it. The ground is being prepared for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls,” said All India Muslim Personal Law Board members.
This Bill, which makes instant triple talaq or talaq-e-biddat a punishable offence, follows the Supreme Court judgment on August 22, 2017 in the case of Shayara Bano vs. Union of India.
Last week, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board had said it plans to open Darul-Qaza (Sharia courts) to resolve issues in line with Islamic laws.
The AIMPLB had proposed to set up Shariat courts in all districts of the country, to resolve all issues within the Islamic law, instead of approaching other courts.
The proposal will come up for discussion at a meeting of the Muslim Law Board in Delhi on July 15.
Nadvi had made the comment after meeting Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar recently.
After the Supreme Court declared the practice of instant divorce 'void, illegal and unconstitutional', the Prime Minister Narendra Modi led Cabinet on December 15 approved the bill that makes instant triple talaq illegal.
"In view of the different opinions recorded by a majority of 3:2, the practice of 'talaq-e-biddat' – triple talaq is set aside," a five-judge constitution bench said in a 395-page order.
