Mizoram on Thursday reported 1,054 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday and 299 of them were from Aizawl district.
"Every district magistrate (DM) has to assess the situation in the area. At times, even if there is a single case in a household, the DMs declare it a containment zone if there is a high rate of infection in that area," said a senior government official.
Amid the sharp rise in Covid cases, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Friday said the state is braced up with adequate arrangements to contain the virus spread.
