Net Interest income grew 24.8 per cent on a year-over-year basis in Q2 at Rs 11,690 crore.
The company's gross revenue rose 49 per cent at Rs 1.91 lakh crore. The rise in crude oil prices and better realisation helped the old-economy business whereas the retail segment benefitted from footfalls as stores reopened and recorded more footfalls. Telecom vertical Jio too recorded greater revenue.
Revenue from operation rose 9.05 per cent to Rs 3,033.12 crore compared to Rs 2,781.34 crore recorded in the corresponding period last year.
Its wire and cable business grew 46 per cent to Rs 2,548 crore in the second quarter. The company's fast-moving electric goods segment grew 41 per cent to Rs 342.9 crore.
According to the company, which operates 658 screens across 156 multiplexes in 70 cities, it has started opening cinemas in a staggered manner from July 2021.
In its quarterly results revealed on Thursday, the company said that it would be considering increasing the prices of its products in order to mitigate the impact of persistently high inflation.
The company in its filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange enumerated that the Covid-19 situation in the country affected the normal dine-in operations of its restaurants, which resulted in lower sales. It added that the company has taken several measures to protect profit margins.
