Surat Gas Leak: Six factory workers died and 22 others were hospitalised, after they inhaled toxic fumes leaking from the chemical tanker parked near a factory in Gujarat's Surat district during wee hours on Thursday.
Currently, plucking of tea leaves takes 10 to 15 days due to acute shortage of experienced tea pluckers. It should be 7 to 8 days if one wants to collect quality leaves, says Santosh Saha.
Referring to Bokaro Steel Plant of the PSU Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL), the CM said it was once the largest factory in Asia but the situation now has changed. He said the government was ready to restore its reputation.
The Emergency Situations Ministry said the explosion hit the Elastik factory in the Ryazan region, about 270 km (about 167 miles) southeast of Moscow.
The police said that 3,247 kg of washing powder was seized from the factory.
The mishap occurred around 4.30 pm on Friday at Tukaram Compound in the Katai area in Thane district of Maharashtra
