The ED had summoned Anil Deshmukh for questioning in a money laundering case related to an alleged multi-crore bribery-cum-extortion racket that led to his resignation in April.
The Enforcement Directorate summons for the NCP leader has been issued under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
NCP chief maintained that formation of any national alliance was not the topic of discussion at the meeting of eight opposition parties.
The series of meetings between the two have fuelled speculations of the NCP trying to create an alliance of Opposition parties to take on the BJP in the next Lok Sabha elections.
The meeting did not involve any discussion on forming an electoral federal front without the Congress to take on the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls

Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik added that the decision has been discussed with the state cabinet and global tenders will be invited for vaccination.
