The NIA arrested Kazi on Sunday after a fresh round of questioning in connection to the explosives-laden car found outside Antilia and the murder of Mansukh Hiran
Riyaz Kazi was called for questioning again by the NIA on Sunday and later placed under arrest.
Special judge PR Sitre sent the suspended assistant police inspector (API) in judicial custody till April 23 after the anti-terror agency didn't press for his further custody.
Anil Deshmukh told the top court that oral allegations were made against him without any substance and a CBI probe was ordered by the high court without hearing him.
Later, the NIA also took Vaze to the Mumbra creek in Thane district where Mansukh Hiran's body was found on March 5.
It is suspected that Assistant Police Inspector Riyazuddin Kaazi had told the NIA during his interrogation that this evidence was thrown into the Mithi river.
'I have been made a scapegoat and have nothing to do with the case,' Sachin Vaze said during the hearing.
'Why should a retired police officer be asked to do this,' Julio Ribeiro said.
