Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made an allegedly communal remark where he affirmed the power of 80% voters over the remaining 20%. Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi lashed out at him and asked the youth to make elections about education and employment.
Claiming her party to be a "disciplined" one, she sought to assure that it will strictly adhere to the model code of conduct for which the party cadre too will be instructed separately.
"The Akhilesh Yadav government had promised to give laptops to youths. For this, 15 lakh laptops were purchased but only 6.25 lakh were distributed," he said
He said eight Omicron cases have so far been reported in Uttar Pradesh and of the patients, three have recovered and the others are in home isolation.
He also took a swipe at Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav over the income tax raids on a Kanpur-based perfume trader, saying this shows why Yadav was opposing demonetisation.
“Bundle of notes… uncountable bundles of notes, still being counted for the third day… people counting them have got exhausted,” the chief minister said, referring to the taxation sleuths raids at Jain’s house in Kanpur.
Attacking the Samajwadi Party (SP), Adityanath asked the gathering if it had ever shown respect to Maharaja Suheldev.
Yadav also attributed the recent visits of chief ministers and deputy chief ministers of the 12 BJP-ruled states to various places in UP, including Varanasi and Ayodhya, to the saffron party’s alleged fears of impending defeat in the upcoming assembly elections.
The week-long drive will be carried out by the Uttar Pradesh government in coordination with the ministry of agriculture and farmers welfare and financial institutions, including commercial banks and regional rural banks.
