Exactly a week from now, Suzuki will be unveiling an all-new bike for 2019. While the manufacturer has managed to keep the launch details under wraps, information about the bike has leaked via YouTube. Interestingly, the bike maker has plans of introducing not one but two new bikes for the current year.
Everything you need to know about the upcoming Gixxer SF 250 is available here. The second image that was leaked is the 2019 model of the Gixxer SF, which gets a refreshing new look.
For starters, the Gixxer SF takes its design cues from its elder sibling, the Gixxer SF 250. The entire fairing and the rear quarter panels have been given a complete overhaul and look much more aggressive than before. Moreover, the headlight is a full LED unit, and so is the tail light. The contrasting rim tapes add to its sporty demeanour. The bike’s alloy wheels and the double barrel exhaust have been carried forward from the current-gen model.
Aside from cosmetic updates, the 2019 Gixxer SF features ergonomic changes that stray from the upright riding posture seen on the outgoing model. The single-piece handlebar makes way for a new clip-on handlebar which seemingly sits lower than before, which could command a forward-leaning posture. A new split seat replaces the single seat seen on the current Gixxer SF.
Though there’s no official word from Suzuki itself, we believe the engine may be tweaked to put out more power. It’s also likely to comply with the upcoming BS6 emission norms. In terms of its suspension setup, it uses a telescopic fork and monoshock which could be tuned to be on the softer side. The 2019 Gixxer SF uses disc brakes at both ends with single-channel ABS as standard.
Expect the above-mentioned updates to set you back by Rs 5,000 over the current Gixxer SF-FI ABS, which retails at Rs 1.01 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The 2019 Gixxer SF will compete against the newly launched Hero Xtreme 200S and the Bajaj Pulsar 200F.
