BJP's win in the assembly elections is vote for politics of performance and prime minister Narendra Modi has emerged as the strongest leader since independence. The party will facilitate Modi at party headquarters in Ashoka Road tomorrow followed by parliamentary board meeting to decide on chief ministers.

While addressing the media, a beaming BJP president Amit Shah expressed confidence that the party will form government in four out of five states. Although he didn’t specify, he perhaps meant BJP forming government in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur. He accepted defeat in Punjab and assured that the party would introspect on the issue.

BJP’s win in these elections is a victory of pro-poor policies of Modi government and Modi stands with the poor like a “chattan (rock)”. The much needed victory of BJP in these elections will now definitely improve its tally in Rajya Sabha.

On huge victory in Uttar Pradesh, Shah, who was micro managing for past several months, said the mandate given by the voters will take the state to a new direction and Uttar Pradesh will come out of the communal and dynastic politics. BJP’s victory, he said, will bring in a new era of development and bring the state out of Hindu-Muslim divide. “Everyone wants a progressive government whose focus is on development of the state.”

If the country has to grow in double digit it is necessary that UP grows at double digit too, he underlined. Hence, the state will be directed towards development. By giving such huge mandate, voters have entrusted party workers with more responsibilities. The party will fulfill all promises laidout in the manifesto, Shah assured.

On BSP supremo Mayawati’s charge that elections was rigged, it was graciously left to understanding of her mental state after the rout.
