A jewellery shop in Surat is selling gold rakhis with pictures of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath and Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani engraved on them.

"By tying this Narendra Modi rakhi I would bless my brother to do something great like Prime Minister Modi," said a customer.

The golden rakhis have been priced between Rs. 50, 000 and Rs. 70, 000.

Raksha Bandhan, which falls on August 26 this year, is symbolised by the tying of a Rakhi, a thread, bracelet or talisman on the wrist as a form of bond and ritual protection.

To make the occasion of Raksha Bandhan special for women, the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) on Saturday announced that they will offer free services to women in its buses of all categories, including the AC buses.

The free bus travel facility announced by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will be available from August 25 midnight till August 26 midnight.

On the other hand, the Delhi Division of the Indian Railways has also decided to run ladies special trains to help women travel in a safe and secure manner.

Anticipating a higher ridership on the occasion, the Delhi Metro had made arrangements to run extra trips on August 25 (Saturday) and August 26 (Sunday) to facilitate the public.

The Delhi Metro will be running 253 extra train trips on Saturday, whereas 598 extra train trips will be made on Sunday in all the lines of the network.

Also, train services would be available for the public from 6 am onwards on Sunday, even in the sections where the services normally start at 8 am.
