    Fresh cases touch 1.6 lakh in 24 hours. 552 new Omicron infections

    A total of 1,59,632 new coronavirus infections were reported in a day, the highest in 224 days, while the active cases increased to 5,90,611, the highest in around 197 days, according to the data updated at 8 am. 

    The death toll climbed to 4,83,790 with 327 fresh fatalities,the data stated.

    1409 cases of the Omicron variant have been recorded so far. Maharashtra recorded the maximum number of 1,009 cases followed by Delhi at 513, Karnataka 441, Rajasthan 373, Kerala 333 and Gujarat 204.

    Delhi Logs 17,335 New Covid-19 Cases, Highest Since May 8

    Delhi on Friday recorded 17,335 fresh Covid cases, the highest single-day rise since May 8, and nine deaths, while the positivity rate mounted to 17.73 per cent, according to data shared by the city health department.

    This is a significant rise from Thursday when the city recorded 15,097 new cases at a positivity rate of 15.34 per cent.

    Mumbai Logs 20,971 Coronavirus Infections, Six Deaths

    Mumbai on Friday recorded 20, 971 new coronavirus infections, the highest one-day spike to date, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said.

    The city also saw six deaths due to the pandemic, highest in a day in the last two months, said a BMC release.

    The cases went up by 790 compared to Thursday.

     

    The caseload of the country's financial capital rose to 8,74,780, while death toll reached 16,394.

    India crosses 1 lakh fresh cases in 24 hours

    1,17,100 new cases of Covid-19 were recorded on Thursday. 

    Maharashtra recorded the maximum number of 876 cases followed by Delhi at 465, Karnataka 333, Rajasthan 291, Kerala 284 and Gujarat 204.

    The active cases increased to 3,71,363, the highest in around 120 days, according to the data updated by the Ministry of Health at 8 am.

    India records biggest single-day rise of 495 Omicron cases

    Of the total cases, Maharashtra has the maximum at 797, followed by Delhi at 465, Rajasthan 236, Kerala 234, Karnataka 226, Gujarat 204 and Tamil Nadu 121.

    The country reported 90,928 fresh coronavirus infections, the highest in over 200 days, that pushed its caseload to 3,51,09,286, data by the Union Ministry of Health said.
