Former finance minister P Chidambaram was discharged from AIIMS after he was brought to Delhi's premier hopsital when he complained of stomach  pain. Chidambaram, an accused in the INX media corruption case, has been in Tihar jail since September 6 this year.

Sources said Chidambaram was taken to the RML Hospital in the morning but has now been shifted to AIIMS.

Chidambaram complained of illness and pain in the stomach, the sources added.

Sources at AIIMS said, the former union minister was brought to the hospital around 5.40 PM and is being examined by a team of doctors in the old private ward.

While those close to Chidambaram said "his condition is not good", ED sources claimed "there was nothing serious".

On October 24, Chidambaram has requested a Delhi court to grant him two-day interim bail for getting treatment of his acute stomach pain in a hospital in Hyderabad. However, the court directed that he be taken to AIIMS immediately in case of any medical complication.

This was the fourth time he was taken to hospital in custody. Chidambaram had repeatedly complained of losing weight. According to sources, he is suffering from stomach ache and was taken the first time to the hospital on October 7 and thereafter on October 23 and 25.
