David Warner became the first Australian opener and the third player overall to receive ducks in both innings of a Test match against England.

Warner was out, making a pair after falling to none other than his nemesis, Stuart Broad in the Australian second innings on the second day of the fifth and final Ashes Test match at Bellerive Oval, Hobart on Saturday (January 15).

On the third ball of Australia's second innings, Warner hit a wide-ish Stuart Broad delivery in the air towards the point region, where Ollie Pope flew towards his right to take a brilliant catch. He walked off with a wry smile on his face.

Warner was dismissed for a 22-ball duck in Australia's first innings by Ollie Robinson in this pink-ball day-night Test. It was the second time in his 91-Tests career that Warner has received ducks in both innings of a match. The first instance was also against England at Manchester in September 2019.

Allan Hurst, at Brisbane and at Sydney in the 1978-79 Ashes series and Glenn McGrath, at Melbourne and at Sydney in the 1998-99 Ashes series, were the two other Australian players to receive ducks in both innings of a Test match twice against England.
