Tammy Beaumont unbeaten on 87 and  Nat Sciver unbeaten on 74 shared a match winning stand of 119 runs for the third wicket as England women defeated India by eight wickets in the first ODI match at Bristol on Sunday. Earlier, India skipper Mithali Raj (72) along with Punam Raut (32) and Deepti Sharma (30) helped India reach 201/8 in 50 overs. Sophie Ecclestone (3/40) was the star bowler for the hosts. The sub-par total was chased by England in just 34.5 overs. India started the defence well reducing England to 83/2 but thereafter Beaumont and Sciver ensured England didn’t lose any wicket posting a facile win.
