Revenue collection in October shows a 22% jump compared to the previous year; it had fallen drastically between March-April due to the lockdown.

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) busted an international smuggling syndicate and recovered gold bars worth Rs 43 crore from eight passengers at New Delhi railway station

Acting on inputs, the DRI officials on Tuesday seized 20.6 kg gold, valued at Rs.6,88 crore, kept hidden by the syndicate at a residential premises in Chennai, the statement issued by the agency said.

The gold had been smuggled into India from Bhutan and was being transported to Delhi, the statement issued by the DRI said.
