Mobile data charges in India are by far the cheapest in the world even as the demand for mobile data services continue to grow rapidly, the company said.
The move comes just days after Idea Cellular and Vodafone India made a joint payment of Rs 7,268.78 crore 'under protest' to the Department of Telecom (DoT) for merging their mobile businesses.
Many customers have complained that some operators have told them that their numbers would be disconnected if the verification is not "immediately completed".
Airtel leads the 4G and 3G speed scores, while Idea and Vodafone were locked for second place in 4G download, each with a measured average LTE speed of 7.4 Mbps.
