Post Delhi riots 2020, four FIRs were lodged against Kalita and the present case relates to FIR 59 in which it has been alleged that the riot was a preplanned, multi-layered and deep-rooted conspiracy.
Natasha and Devangana belong to Pinjra Tod (Break the Cage) group, a collective of women students and alumni of colleges from across Delhi. The group had allegedly organised the anti-Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) protest under the Jaffrabad Metro bridge.
The eviction comes two days after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced the national capital was going into a complete lockdown to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus, which has already claimed over 13,000 lives worldwide.
It also said CAA does not confer any arbitrary and unguided powers on the executive as the citizenship to the persecuted minorities of Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh would be granted in a manner as specified under the law.
Speaking to reporters at party office, the former Uttar Pradesh chief minister said, 'While going to Delhi on a flight, a person saw my palms and told me that if I work hard, I will form the next government by winning 350 seats.'
